Announcing a New Breakthrough in Nutritional Science

I’m just back from the “excitement and high” of the USANA International Convention last week in Salt Lake. What I love about being partnered with this company is they never cease to amaze me with their scientific advances and innovative products toward the goal of keeping us as healthy as possible.

USANA made an announcement this week at convention that’s changed the game for the nutritional industry and our business.

I wanted to make sure to let you know about it ASAP, which is why I’m hurrying to get this out this week!

They just revealed the next generation of nutritional science and cutting edge products, and IT’S LIKE DAY ONE in terms of the opportunity and possibility for this company and the people who partner with us.

So what’s the big announcement? It’s a patent-pending technology called InCelligence that uses cell signaling to tap into our bodies’ innate wisdom to nourish, protect, and renew our cells.

The two things that stuck out for me the most about what this means are:

1. It tells your body to make more antioxidants. The antioxidants your body makes are 100x more powerful at fighting free radicals than the antioxidants you eat. The InCelligence technology signals your cells to make more of their own so that more free radicals are neutralized, and the body doesn’t break down as quickly.

2. It tells your cells to renew their aging mitochondria. The mitochondria are where all of the energy is made. When mitochondria age they make less energy (ATP) and more free radicals. The InCelligence technology signals the cell to repair and renew the mitochondria so they can go back to making more energy!

To learn more about how InCelligence works in our flagship product called CellSentials, (multi-vitamin/multi-mineral) click to watch the video.

USANA is the only company whose products nourish, protect, and renew the cells of our bodies. Other companies do one or two of these things. Only USANA does all three, now with InCelligence.

If you want to become part of the exclusive community of wellness entrepreneurs spreading the word about these cutting edge products and helping to fulfill the vision of freeing the world of pain and suffering caused by degenerative disease,  click here to connect with me.

Be well on your wellness journey!

What does it mean to accept the inevitable? I’ve been pondering this lately as I’m getting older, (not that there’s anything wrong with that), but things are changing that I have no control over. For example I can’t jump around in Jazzercise like I used to. I have to step in place because my knees will bother me if I don’t. I find that I need a little rest time in my day so that I can keep going on into the evening with activities. I find that I’m more assertive than I used to be – yes, I’m a bit mouthy – and don’t really care about the consequences.

In other words things are changing and I actually now understand my mother’s aging process much better since I’m going through some of the things that she used to go through.

Here’s Mom!

Lois Nedden

The bottom line is it’s my job to accept my age changes rather than complain and resist. It’s just the way it is

.
Now I know this isn’t easy and for sure it hasn’t been for me. I remember when I used to run for fitness but after several years it was causing me a lot of back pain. So I had to stop running and just do walking. And of course that caused me to be depressed because I thought I’ll never be as healthy as I want to be from just walking. And yet I have found that walking is a great fitness activity for me now.

So I have accepted that but I will admit that when you’re going through any kind of a change acceptance might not come right away. But if you give it some time and also appreciate the fact that this may be just a normal thing for you then you can finally make peace with it and accept it.

What are you going through right now that is challenging you?

Here are my tips to help you with acceptance of anything that might be changing for you that you are starting to resist.
A – Allow the change to come into being instead of fighting it

C – Communicate your feelings with family or friends so you don’t bottle things up

C – Create new opportunities that will achieve the same benefit you’ve been looking for only do it differently

E – Eliminate negative feelings that arise and focus on how can you shift and move forward with your life

P – Pretend all is as it should be and relax into these changes to allow your body and mind to relax

T – Train yourself to keep moving forward instead of yielding to depression, regret, anger

A – Allow time to accept the changes and let your mind go through the stages of grief and loss

N – Notice when you have shifted into accepting your new reality and celebrate your progress

C – Collaborate with others going through a similar situation and get ideas on how they’re dealing with it

E – Enjoy the process of change as another wonderful thing about being alive

And finally, I love this reminder from one of my support groups – “When I got busy I got better”

So I got busy writing this blog and now I feel better!

If you need some support around acceptance, contact me for a quick laser coaching session to give you a boost.

Be well.

How to Build Your Anti-Rejection Muscle

Building Emotional Muscle!

Words of Wisdom from Christiane Northrup

No doubt, rejection hurts. No doubt, it cuts to the core! And, no doubt, it builds confidence!
Rejection is like no other emotional hurt. It’s central to our primal need to belong. In hunter-gatherer societies, rejection from our tribe meant life or death, we couldn’t survive alone. In the 21st century, being rejected is an anguish that we either learn to accept and rise above by ultimately becoming stronger or we allow it to hold us back. If we validate the rejection our ‘inner critic’ is off to races to seal the deal.

We all experience rejection. Choice Theory tells us that when we say yes to someone or something, we’re inevitably saying no to something else. In the fast paced, high tech, information inundated highway that we live in, everyone is making choices…this or that? Whether it’s a romantic refusal, a social snub, a business slight, or a family exclusion – the pain associated with rejection has been found in fMRI (Functional MRI) studies to light up the same neuroreceptors in the brain that occur when physical pain is endured. No other emotional pain effects this part of the brain in the same way.

Yet, just as we tear muscle fibers to build muscle, tolerating social rejection with a positive internal narrative builds emotional resiliency and confidence. When we feel it and accept it and honor our disappointment, we are then ready to move forward in our Hero’s Journey. We emerge stronger, more confident and can trust that something even better is on its way. One sure fire way to practice the fear of rejection is to seek it out on purpose. Go out and get as many rejections as possible. Can you drive me to Cleveland this afternoon? NO! Ok, Next. Can you loan me a $100,000 by Friday? NO! OK, Next. Want to join my business? I don’t know, tell me more. Ok…

Join Dr. Christiane Northrup and her sister, Penny Northrup Kirk and learn to go from fear of rejection to…next, and build awe inspiring emotional muscles.

Take time today to flex your Rejection Muscle!

Carol

If you are CREATIVE  like me, clutter stays cluttered and causes muttering about the clutter and never gets resolved.

Clutter

So what’s that all about?  My perception is that cluttering results from being blessed – or cursed – with being a person who is VISUAL.  You need to have everything in view so you can find it.  OUT OF SIGHT AND OUT OF MIND is your motto.  Can you relate?  So how do you manage that?

Let’s  apply this issue to a 12 Step Program of which I am very familiar and has helped me greatly in the past with issues out of my control.

  1. Admit you are powerless over clutter, its becoming a barrier to managing your life and business successfully and causes  you a great deal of unnecessary stress.
  2. Believe that a force greater than you can bring clutter under control if you just turn it over to the clutter gods for support.
  3. Make a commitment to getting regular cluttering done by committing it to your calendar.
  4. Search within yourself to discover why cluttering is happening in the first place and address that
  5. Admit to yourself and others that just because it appears to be a problem, it is actually related to what kind of person you are and reflects the nature of a creative mind
  6. Be willing to admit to yourself and others that just because you have the gift of creativity doesn’t mean you can’t control the clutter in your life.
  7. Ask the clutter gods of the universe to support your efforts in managing the clutter in a positive way.
  8. Make a list of all the people (include yourself) and projects you have disappointed because of not being more organized and efficient due to excess clutter
  9. Share those truths with those affected and make amends
  10. Continue to monitor your clutter daily and course correct promptly to avoid it paralyzing you
  11. Set your intention daily using visualization on what it looks and feels like to live a clutter-free lifestyle
  12. Share the message and lessons learned with others challenged by this issue.

Now you don’t have to do all of these steps right away.  This is a major lifestyle change and thrives on doing one step at a time and moving on when you start seeing and “feeling” results.

Network or Die!

Did you know that “people need people” and in some cases when people don’t have human contact they can die?  Newborns denied physical contact with other humans can actually die from this lack of contact, even when provided with proper nutrition and shelter.  Older people who lack social contacts may be at increased risk of death if acute symptoms develop, because there is less of a network of confidantes to prompt medical attention.

So how does this relate to my wellness business?  Here’s my take on the importance of networking with others.

There are times when I just don’t want to be around people and want to hole-up at home and not see anyone.  For me that is a sign that my wellness business is losing ground – and could be at “death’s door”.  After all, independent business owners who don’t get out there and meet people,  don’t have any customers.  And then what kind of business would I have?

Working for yourself  is certainly different  than having a job working for a boss and being around lots of people all day.  There are always opportunities to make connections,  be seen and known and create new opportunities.  But when you work for yourself,  it is up to you to make those connections happen.

I’m just giving you a reality check in case you are about to embark on starting a business of your own and want to find out how to grow your business and avoid the “kiss of death” that happens to 50% of new businesses.

NETWORKING rules as a business builder and here’s why:

N – new connections are made with new people who may need your services
E – enjoyment happens when you learn about people’s hopes and dreams
T – trust develops when you connect with people on a regular basis
W – wonderful conversations often lead to friendships
O – opportunities arise to find even more people whom you can serve
R – rewards come from being able to help someone improve their life
K – kindred spirits show up the more people you meet
I – intimate conversations can lead to deeper relationships
N – notice what happens  when you give the gift of listening to another person
G – great things occur when great people get together

So if you are going into business for yourself, networking with people on a regular basis is critical – but pays off with great rewards.  And it is fun “getting to know you”.  James Taylor will tell you all about it!

So go out a meet someone!  If you are struggling with reaching out, connect with me and I’ll give you a complimentary laser coaching session to get you started.

Let’s get connected!

How to deal with distractions when working on your goals

Distractions from working on your “New Year” goals getting you down?
I think they are placed in our day to test how committed we really are to achieving those goals.  So why not acknowledge them as something to be expected and apply some strategies to not let them get in your way.
Check out my latest video tip and see if this might help.

Good luck managing those distractions in your life!

3 Cravings you must have in the New Year

3 Cravings you must have in the New Year

  1. Craving to meet new like-minded people and expand your circle of friends
  2. Craving to make a difference in other people’s lives
  3. Craving to get healthier yourself

Now if that sounds like something you can commit to, and you don’t mind taking the time and energy to make that happen, then you are in the right place right now.  Of course if this is not your desire, you may stop reading now, but I do wish you a very happy and healthy new year!

For the rest of you, want to learn more?  Read on.

As I ended my career in the corporate world and branched out on my own,  I realized I still had more to offer and craved these 3 things.  I never saw myself retired so I knew I had to create a new path for myself that would still be fulfilling personally but would also allow me to continue making a difference in the health and wellness of others.  The path I chose fell into place because I was OPEN TO POSSIBILITIES  and was WILLING TO TAKE CALCULATED RISKS.

If you are at such a crossroads as this, then I have 8-STEPS  that moved me forward into a place of new challenges, renewed energy, exciting possibilities, more relationships and support than at any other time in my life, more fun and travel, better health (I thought I was super healthy, but found out I could do even better) and even opened a path to financial security (that was a bonus!)  Believe me this was a welcome surprise to me at this time in my career and I felt rejuvenated and ready to tackle a NEW BEGINNING in life.  So are you ready for a new beginning this NEW YEAR  too?

Community builds immunity – and maybe your bottom line too!!

How much value do you place on being with friends, family and co-workers? Probably alot, but did you know that it can improve your health as well?  I remember when I could count the number of friends I had on one hand, and now I need at least 10 hands when I add them all up.  A big change for me and I am definitely happier and healthier as well.  So what is this all about?

Introducing Work Without Walls

Recently I had the honor of working alongside my mentor, Dr. Karen Wolfe, who flew in from California to present wellness presentations to eager audiences in my town of La Crosse and then we drove 5 hours to Green Bay Wisconsin to do the same.

Karen at Marriott

We were truly “road warriers” and I was reminded of how much more fun it is to do my work without walls, than it is to be confined – or shall I say – chained to a desk in an institution.

We were on the move at all times but were still working using our smart phones and stopping along the way to take a break and do some writing.  Notice Karen behind my car at a picnic table doing business while I start enjoying my “flurry”.  Now that’s what I call doing business!

Belts 2015

We were in conversation the entire time planning, making decisions and sharing insights.  It was truly running our businesses “on the go” and it was fun and exhilarating.

Here are some of the comparisons I see between having a traditional job at a business (which I did most of my career), and my job now as a solo-entrepreneur.  You decide which brings more joy and fits you best!

Traditional Workplace

Confined to a desk in a room or a cube with no windows

Being disconnected from the outdoors and nature.

Phone and computer anchored to desk so after multiple meetings have to catch up returning calls and emails which is inefficient

Set work schedule of 8-12 hours so miss important events and activities that occur during work day

Power thru the day without a rest break

Boss dictates what I do and when I do it

Independent Work Without Walls

Many work spaces – home office, car, coffee shop, outside at a picnic table, sitting in an airplane, in a hotel room, at a restaurant

Outside whenever I want to re-energize, take walks, clear my head, restore creativity

Smart phone and lap top are always with me so I’m always connected and can respond immediately to requests

Flexible work schedule so I don’t miss special occasions, appointments, programs I want

I can take a power nap every day to refresh.

I am my own boss!

Would love to hear your thoughts on this comparison.  Email me here.  carol@carolebert.com

Be well on your journey toward independence!

Carol

Your Challenge Today – What’s age got to do with it?

This is my current thinking about my life today. The numbers keep piling up but I still feel and think the same.  So do I define myself by what society says my age should be like, or do I challenge myself to accept that I am growing older but I have an ageless outlook that cannot be defined with a number. What about you?  Do you still “act your age” or act as if you are ageless?  Here are my thoughts in my latest video.

So what are your thoughts on the numbers  game?

Recently, has your age-number stopped you from doing what you truly wanted to do?

Is your age-number holding you back from being all you can be?

What would happen if you forgot about your age-number and did just what you wanted to?

I would love your comments about this.  Click here and let me know!
